giving back - rescue photography
I am so delighted to announce that Furry Feet Photography is working with the Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) Tasmania, offering professional photography services for all their adoptable race retiring greyhounds.
The Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) is a not-for-profit department of Tasracing with the goal to aid in helping these loveable dogs find a permanent pet home after retiring from their racing career, as well as educating the public on what a gentle and affectionate pet these dogs really are.
Every dog that enters the program is temperament tested, de-sexed, wormed, de-flead, vaccinated, micro-chipped, teeth cleaned and nail trimmed. They then spend 6-8 weeks with the dedicated volunteer foster carers who help prepare the dogs for life outside the racing kennels and find forever homes.
We believe that this amazing breed deserves a second chance and it is our mission to help the public realise that “yes” your greyhound does have to wear a muzzle in Tasmania, but “no” he is not vicious, in fact, he is one of the kindest and gentlest dogs you will ever meet.
More information about the current fur boys and girls that are ready to find forever homes can be found at our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FurryFeet or http://www.gaptas.org.au/category/greyhounds-available/
As of 1 July 2014, I am proud to announce that Furry Feet photography have joined the amazing worldwide organisation HeARTspeak as an aspiring member. HeARTspeak is a worldwide organisation dedicated to uniting artists with shelters and animal relief organisations.
